Dr. Schell is a Fellowship trained Orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery as well as general orthopaedic injuries and trauma.
Dr. Schell graduated from Stanford University and received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He subsequently undertook an internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, which included orthopaedic training at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York and Alfred I. DuPont Children's Hospital in Delaware. Dr. Schell completed additional training with a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he served as an associate physician for the New York Jets, New York Islanders, Hofstra University, and the US Tennis Open. Additionally, Dr. Schell has served as team physician of the New York Titans Professional Indoor Lacrosse.
Dr. Schell is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is an Attending at Roosevelt Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, and Lenox Hill Hospital. He holds memberships in the American Orthopaedic Association, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the New York Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Schell holds medical licenses in New York and New Jersey. He has presented research at numerous national and state meetings and continues to be actively involved in orthopaedic research.
