In a wide ranging career, Dr.Perlow served 2 years active duty as a major in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. He has been a technical advisor to United Artists Studios. In 2008 he was selected by the President of the American Gastroenterological Association to serve as the only non - academic clinician on the organization's nominating committee for their next president and other important posts
