Dr. La Puma is a licensed podiatric physician who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of all foot and ankle conditions. He has completed a three-year reconstructive foot and ankle surgical residency program at Interfaith Medical Center, where he performed over 1,400 surgical procedures. Dr. La Puma has received extensive training in all ailments and bio-mechanical disorders affecting the lower extremity.
As Chief Resident, Dr. La Puma has had vast training and experience in Orthopedics and Vascular Surgery. Currently, Dr. La Puma is an acting Attending for the Podiatric Surgical Residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. Dr. La Puma specializes in surgical correction of bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, to complex reconstructive foot and ankle repairs, congenital deformities, wound care, diabetic limb salvage, trauma and sports related injuries.
Dr. La Puma is an active member of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, the American Podiatric Medical Association and the New York State Podiatric Medicine Association.
