Dr. Sara Dawson completed her undergraduate education at SUNY Geneseo in western New York where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Sara Dawson completed her undergraduate education at SUNY Geneseo in western New York where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then went on to graduate from SUNY College of Optometry where she was a Dean’s List student, member of the Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honors society, and recipient of many scholarships and awards, including the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence and the Morton L. Kimmelman Memorial Award for student leadership within organized optometry.
Dr. Dawson is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and is licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic medications. Her internship training specialized in family practice optometry including pediatrics, fitting and management of contact lenses, and diagnosis and treatment of ocular pathology.
Dr. Dawson is dedicated both to her profession and to the community and is a member of the New York State Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She has participated in community vision screenings with the Lion’s Club and Special Olympics, and was a member of an optometric mission team to Mexico. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading on her Kindle, trying new restaurants, and travelling.
