Dr. Wert is a dual fellowship-trained, orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine and cartilage repair and restoration. Dr. Wert was an orthopaedic resident at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. He completed his residency at New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital where he served as chief resident. Dr. Wert went on to complete a sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, Mississippi and Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition, Dr. Wert was chosen for the International Cartilage Repair Society Traveling Fellowship, where he worked alongside world renowned surgeons in Europe.
As a fellow in Jackson and New Orleans, Dr. Wert was fortunate enough to train with some of the most respected Arthroscopic surgeons in America and three past presidents of the Arthroscopic Association of North America. As a fellow in the International Cartilage Repair Society traveling fellowship, Dr. Wert was able to work with one of the most renowned group of knee surgeons in Europe.
Clinically Dr. Wert understands the importance of incorporating a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, and works with his patients to develop alternative exercise programs and utilizes innovative therapies to speed up the recovery process safely. Dr. Wert specializes in the arthroscopic minimally invasive treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle injuries, with the highest importance on protecting repairing, and restoring the patients native cartilage.
