Dr. Maria Tulpan is a caring, approachable and attentive internist and endocrinologist located in midtown Manhattan, New York City, with over 15 years of clinical experience. She received her medical degree from Universitatea de Medicina si Farmacie Carol Davila, Bucharest, Romania, and completed her residency at Jacobi Medical Center, Bronx, New York. She then attended Yale University for a two years fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, where she was involved with research on Type I diabetes. She is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes, metabolism and internal medicine.
Dr. Tulpan's specialties include issues related to diabetes and metabolism, such as thyroid disease, obesity, pituitary and adrenal gland disorders, osteoporosis, sexual dysfunction, PCOS, infertility and hair loss. She offers consultation for weight and fat loss and partners with a certified dietician (located on premise). For all diabetic patients she offers testing with the new continuous glucose monitoring sensor. She also performs fine needle aspiration biopsies of thyroid nodules in the office.
