Dr. Jeffrey Yu performs his deliveries & gynecologic surgeries at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital near Columbus Circle in Manhattan where he also completed his OB/GYN residency training. There he received the Resident Achievement Award in Laparoscopy by the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and was honored as Chief Resident for Outstanding Role Model of Leadership and Professionalism.
Dr. Yu is originally from the Los Angeles area and graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCLA. He relocated to the East coast and obtained his medical doctorate at Albany Medical College but still spent summers teaching at California State University, Los Angeles. Later he moved to Manhattan for his residency training and is now a permanent New Yorker.
Dr. Yu has a strong background in minimally invasive surgery using laparoscopy techniques in the treatment of pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, fibroids, and various other gynecologic conditions. His other clinical areas of interest include contraception counseling, abnormal uterine bleeding, abnormal PAPs, infertility, preconception & family planning, and of course prenatal care and delivery.
Dr. Yu is committed to empowering women to manage their own labor and general health by providing the tools needed to make informed choices. His low cesarean section rate is testament to the belief that vaginal delivery is always the preferred route, and he supports labor & birth in Roosevelt Hospital's Birthing Center as a patient option in routine pregnancies.
Aside from his obligations to his patients in New York, Dr. Yu also participates in medical missions across the globe. He has volunteered in Bangladesh, South Korea, Mexico, and in underprivileged areas here in the United States.
