Jean Chuang Menges is a national board licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist residing in New York City. Jean provides integrative, holistic and individualized services aimed at optimizing health and well-being of her patients.
Jean holds bachelor degrees in Biology and Medical Technology from Case Western Reserve University and the University Hospitals of Cleveland. During these courses of study, she received a quality basic science education with practical technology skills. After receiving her degrees, she took a position as research assistant in molecular genetic studies in the Department of Microbiology at the University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Jean’s interest in alternative medicine grew stronger as her foundations in science continued to expand. She began studies in acupuncture and Oriental medicine at South Baylo University in California. She continues to deepen her understanding of those practices through internships and certification training in China, Taiwan, and the U.S.
She is currently focusing on Wan’s 3E Method of acupuncture, an integration of classical Chinese medicine fundamentals with Western anatomy and physiology references. Jean has special training in Orthopedic Acupuncture pain management and general system disorders from injuries; Oncology Acupuncture pain relief and cancer therapy side effects; Scalp Acupuncture motor and sensory rehabilitation in stroke and multiple sclerosis; and Acupuncture Detoxification substance abuse rehabilitation and post-traumatic stress recovery.
Jean lives with her musician husband and two young children. Her hobbies and interests include gardening, camping, hiking, and biking.
