James received his Bachelors (BA) in Anthropology from Stanford University. He earned his Masters (MSTOM) in Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
Highlights of his training also include: Training at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, apprenticing to Matt Callison, a leader in acupuncture for sports medicine and orthopedic disorders, completion of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center training for Acupuncturists, and trained in the use of sound and vibrational therapy.
James has made his career working as an Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, and Mind/Body Specialist in integrative medicine settings. He has been working with patients for 15 years in various capacities as a meditation consultant, energy healer, massage therapist, qi gong instructor, acupuncturist and Chinese medicine herbalist.
James has been the head acupuncturist at Canyon Ranch Miami Beach. He has also worked at integrative medicine practices at Scripps Center for Executive Health, Loyola University, and Evanston/Northwestern Healthcare. He is also a former clinic supervisor and professor of acupuncture at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. James is the author of a number of articles about healing and overcoming chronic illness, and his book, Unlearning Stress, is now available on Amazon.com
