Dr. Herstik was the section chief of Podiatry – Department of Orthopedics at St. Vincent’s Hospital Medical Center – Manhattan until the Hospital closed in 2010. Dr. Herstik was the section chief of Podiatry – Department of Orthopedics at St. Vincent’s Hospital Medical Center – Manhattan until the Hospital closed in 2010. He continues to be involved in the training of the Podiatric Residents, as well as training and assisting other Podiatrists. Additionally, he works in the Beth Israel Hospital Wound Care Center treating and managing lower-leg and foot ulcers, as well as wounds that develop from a multitude of conditions, including diabetes, HIV, and vascular disease. Utilizing a team approach, special trained wound care nurses and physicians, including a team of Vascular Surgeons, Infectious Disease Specialists, and Pedorthotists, manage and treat foot ulcers with the newest wound care dressings and devices.
When not in the office, Dr. Herstik enjoys living in suburban New York with his wife and three children. Keeping active, healthy and fit is an important part of his lifestyle, a goal he trys to instill in his patients everyday.
