She received her fellowship training in Cardiovascular diseases from Beth Israel Medical Center-Long Island College Hospitals NY, and was also Chief Cardiology Fellow in the final year. During her fellowship she presented several research abstracts at American College of Cardiology with the 2006 abstract on Impact of Heart failure medications on incidence of Ventricular Arrhythmias being selected for the Young Investigators Award.
Dr. Sahni was subsequently an Attending and CCU Director at the Metropolitan College hospital with faculty appointment of Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College [ NYMC] Valhalla from 2006-2009. She was also appointed Site Clerkship Director for Medical students from NYMC at Metropolitan Hospital mentoring and teaching third and fourth year medical students. She was awarded Teacher of the Year award by the graduating batch of 2009 NYMC medical students and Teacher of the Year Award by Internal Medicine Residents of Metropolitan Hospital in 2007 and 2009. She also had publications in the European Heart Journal and International Journal of Cardiology during this period.
Dr. Sahni is currently full time faculty at the Mount Sinai Hospital Cardiovascular Institute with academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Medicine since 2010. She is Director of Cardiology Consults and Cardio-Oncology clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital. Her special interests include Preventative Cardiology, Coronary artery disease, Heart disease in Cancer patients, Pregnancy and Heart Disease, Lipidology and Women’s Heart Health
Dr. Sahni is board certified by the ABIM in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular diseases with additional Board certification in Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. She was awarded Fellowship in American College of Cardiology in 2008, Fellowship in American College of Physicians in 2009 and is a current member of the American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, Women in Cardiology Committee of ACC, American Society of Echocardiography and Vascular Biology Working Group. She has received numerous popular awards such as People's Choice award 2008-2012 & Most Compassionate Doctor 2012
