I am a psychiatrist and an addiction specialist proudly serving patients in New York City.
I attended Georgetown University Medical School in Washington, DC, and am Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
Patients come for a variety of reasons including issues with mood and depression, anxiety or panic, substance use, attention and concentration problems, eating disorders, relationship problems - to name a few, and perhaps a combination of those issues exists.
I appreciate that one needs to hear about treatment options outside of medications. If medications are agreed upon as part of a treatment approach, then they may be an anti-anxiety medication, a sleep aid, an anti-depressant, or medication for concentration/focus, or medications shown to be helpful in problematic substance use or impulse control issues: such as problematic opiate, alcohol, or nicotine use, or compulsive behaviors (i.e. gambling or sexual impulses, etc).
The psychotherapy that I provide is informed by many modalites such as psycho-dynamic, cognitive behavioral, DBT, and supportive therapy.
Lastly, I will also gladly refer patients to colleagues should their expertise be useful.
