I am a Cornell and NYU-trained, Columbia-affiliated psychiatrist with over 10 years of experience practicing psychiatry in Manhattan. I offer years of experience and advanced clinical training, and I look forward to working together to help you feel better and meet your goals
You can find more information about me and my practice at www.drguptapsychiatry.com. I emphasize the importance of avoiding communication delays and will quickly return phone calls and emails.
My style is warm, engaging, and personable. I work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and many different walks of life, including executives, technology specialists, entrepreneurs, artists & entertainers, academics, medical professionals, students, and full-time parents. Entering treatment can be an intimidating process, and I have successfully treated many people who are new to psychiatric care.
I completed my undergraduate and medical education at the prestigious accelerated BA/MD program at The George Washington University. I trained in psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical Center. As a resident, I helped establish treatment for victims of the Asian Tsunami in Sri Lanka in 2005 and worked as a chief resident of the inpatient psychiatric unit. Following residency, I pursued advanced fellowship training in Forensic Psychiatry at NYU Medical Center.
In 2014, I received the Nancy CA Roeske Teaching Award, given each year to a psychiatrist who has made outstanding and sustaining contributions to medical student education. I am currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. I teach and supervise physicians and medical students from NYU and Columbia, present at national conferences, and recently created a documentary film with colleagues.
