I believe in healing the whole person and have many tools to do just that. I am a board certified acupuncturist and herbalist, but also have a strong background in western science. In my clinic, Yin Yang Balance Acupuncture, I use herbs, massage, trigger point acupressure, moxibustion, and acupuncture to restore balance to the minds and bodies of my patients.
I began my love of science and the mind/body relationship studying neurobiology and psychology at Columbia University. I worked in a lab for years before shifting to the clinical side. I studied traditional Chinese medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where I completed my master’s degree.
I then completed a year-long in-patient fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in the Integrative Medicine Department.
In addition to my private practice, I am a medical & science writer. I create "continuing medical education" programs for physicians and maintain a regular blog on the Huffington Post. Which you can see here http://www.huffingtonpost.com/amy-m-fitzpatrick-ms-lac/
Finally, I recently presented at the APA conference about using TCM in addiction and will be presenting on the same topic at the local TCM school & other conferences.
