She was formerly a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at State University of New York at Downstate. Dr. Walia has been involved in extensive research and has published in various prestigious journals, such as Journal of Nuclear Cardiology and European Heart Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging. She is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology and has earned a distinction of Fellow of American Society of Echocardiography.
Dr. Walia has a special interest in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, valvular heart disease, and pregnancy related cardiac diseases. She sees patients with a wide spectrum of cardiac pathology, including premature coronary artery disease, hypertension, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, aortic stenosis, and mitral stenosis.
