Have no fear. Come and talk to me about anything that’s on your mind. You won’t be judged, ignored or misunderstood. I will take time to make you feel comfortable, establish a connection and get to know you better. Together we will explore all aspects of your present life and the essential components of your history, analyze all contributing factors, including medical, psychological, social and spiritual, to come up with a plan. It might include psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, or both. Couples or sex therapy can be implemented when needed. My goal is to help you achieve your personal and professional best.
Residency, addiction fellowship training and many years of experience make me proficient in CBT, motivational and psychodynamic psychotherapies, and dealing with addiction issues. Extensive experience in research on pedophiles and transgender individuals makes me comfortable with any issues of gender or sexuality. Being bilingual in English and Russian allows me to communicate with ease with the majority and second largest minority of residents in NYC.
In addition to my private practice I work as a psychiatric emergency room physician at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Medical Center. Being in the midst of acute psychiatric care, working in collaboration with the medical ER staff, training residents and students, keeps me on my toes and at the frontier of psychiatry.
