Dr. Cheung completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University, where she majored in Music. Subsequently, she attended UCSF School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with top honors. Dr. Cheung was awarded the prestigious Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity Academic Achievement Award, which is presented to the student with the highest academic standing in the graduating class. Dr. Cheung completed her 3-year Orthodontic specialty training at UCLA, where she received both a Masters of Science in Oral Biology and a Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Cheung was active in research at UCSF and UCLA, and was invited to give oral presentations at the Cleft Lip and Palate Association Annual Meeting and at the American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session. Dr. Cheung is also the first author on a manuscript published in PLOS ONE
Dr. Cheung is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. She also achieved Affiliate Membership in the Angle Society, where one of the requirements includes presentation of cases judged to be finished to the highest standard.
