About Dr. Alex Horowitz

Dr. Alex Horowitz is an attentive psychiatrist and addiction specialist serving patients in Greater New York City, NY. He is an empathic listener who tailors his treatment to meet the needs of his patients. Treatment modalities include psychotherapy (talk therapy) and medication management. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. Dr. Horowitz attends annual meetings with the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry. Dr. Horowitz attended medical school at Rush University in Chicago, IL. He then completed a residency in psychiatry at Northwestern University, McGaw Medical Center, as well as a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at New York University. Patients come to Dr. Horowitz to receive psychotherapy and/or pharmacotherapy for a variety of reasons. Some of these include addiction consultations and follow-ups, psychiatric medication review, alcoholism, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and many others.
