About Dr. Susan Plunket

Dr. Plunket is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist. She received her PhD from the New School for Social Research in 1989. Her clinical training was done at Bellevue Hospital, New York Hospital and The Post Graduate Center for Mental Health. She has been in private practice working with individuals, couples and families for the past 24 years. Dr. Plunket loves her work of accompanying people on this healing journey of transformation to awareness and freedom from suffering. Her approach to helping is believing that contacting a therapist is an act of personal courage and self care. Dr. Plunket will meet you more than half way in this process. Listening and helping you make sense of your pain is her primary job. Dr. Plunket works with a variety of issues including: couple therapy, anxiety, depression, fear, eating disorders, PTSD, job stress, infertility, relationship problems, grief, heartbreak and loss. In individual and couple therapy she employs the techniques of Jungian dream analysis, cognitive therapy, meditation, body talk and depth psychology.
