About Russell Stram

I first experienced acupuncture as a treatment for my own sports injuries. Acupuncture allowed me to be pain free and improved my energy for work and sports. It was empowering to feel in control of my health again and I committed myself to the study of eastern medicine and acupuncture at the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in NYC. In 2005, I moved to Tokyo and started my own integrative acupuncture and physical therapy practice. While in Tokyo, I renewed my passion for running and completed the Tokyo Marathon in 2007 and 2008. As an avid runner, martial arts enthusiast, and aspiring triathlete, acupuncture has always provided me with the most complete treatment. The whole body can be treated with great results in fewer sessions. My experience in physical therapy and acupuncture includes treating patients for sports injuries and surgeries, balance and gait problems, repetitive strain and work related injury. I have treated people for digestive complaints, headaches, insomnia, anxiety and fatigue. Every individual brings a diverse set of complaints and experiences to their picture of health, so it is so important to receive a thorough evaluation and individualized care. In the physical therapy settings I have worked, Pilates has played a large role. The philosophy of Pilates embodies all the key elements of physical recovery, improving function by addressing core stabilization, flexibility and strength, with attention to proper form and posture. Furthermore, Pilates equipment was designed to make exercises accessible to people across all generations and ability levels, making it my preferred tool for supporting people to achieve their goals.
