Dr. Michael Abott, MD
PulmonologistAbout Dr. Michael Abott
In his 30 years of practice, Dr. Abott has developed a well known and loved reputation for his compassion and personal relationships with his patients. Board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease, he is also qualified in Geriatrics and Critical Care. In fact, he started the Critical Care section of a prominent Brooklyn medical center. He enjoys his role in instructing medical students not only in medicine but also as a role model for the type of physician who treats generations of families. Dr. Abott believes that patients should not have to wait weeks or months for an appointment, and sick patients usually get same day appointments. He stresses that patients should be partners in their own medical care and eschews jargon to explain medical problems in ways that are relatable to all patients. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians as well as the American College of Physicians among several other professional organizations, and has been in every edition of Castle Connolly’s Best Doctors guide since its inception. Over his years of practice Dr. Abott has developed a group of loyal and dedicated patients and always welcomes new patients with warmth and respect for their concerns.
