Herbert John Cooper is an insightful and energetic orthopedic and reconstructive surgeon serving the cities of New York, Garden City, and Scarsdale in New York. Dr. Cooper received his medical degree from Columbia University and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY. Dr. Cooper also completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Rush University. Dr. Cooper’s vast and impressive medical scope includes surgical procedures such as primary hip and knee replacements, revision hip and knee replacements, and hip and knee arthroscopy. He also harbors a special interest in minimally invasive and muscle-sparing approaches, including direct anterior approach hip arthroplasty and quadriceps-sparing total knee arthroplasty. Dr. Cooper’s medical career is full of outstanding contributions to orthopedics, such as podium and poster presentations, research studies, published abstracts and book chapters, and lectures. He regularly attends and makes presentations at the annual meetings of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
