About Dr. David Malakov
Dr. Malakov specializes in more severe cases of periodontal care, he is experienced at the routine care and treatment as well, from cleanings to conventional exams. Generally, to begin your first visit, Dr. Malakov will perform a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, in order to check for any signs of gum-line recession, bacterial issues, a proper ‘bite’, the health of the jawbone and the strength of your teeth overall. In addition, he will use a probe to examine the distance between your teeth and gums, in order to determine the overall depth of the spaces known as periodontal pockets – this allows us to ensure your overall health and wellness, as the larger these spaces, the more bacteria is present. In other cases, where there are issues with the gums, surgery might be necessary.

Dr. David Malakov received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry, where he graduated with distinction as the recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Award for Outstanding Achievement in Periodontics.
