Dr. Gumucio grew up in the Midwest and attended the exclusive combined six-year MD/BA medical program at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He completed his general surgery training at the prestigious Barnes Hospital/Washington University program in St. Louis. He remained at the same institution for his plastic and reconstructive surgery training.
