I am a clinical psychologist licensed in the state of New York. I specialize in individual psychotherapy and also offer cognitive and personality evaluations. I have worked with a wide range of people in private practice, at Swarthmore College, Bellevue Hospital, NYU School of Medicine, the Bronx VA Medical Center, and Mount Sinai Medical Center. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from John Hopkins University, and a Masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Temple University. I have extensive training to provide Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I conduct research on new treatments for depression, bipolar disorder and anxiety disorders at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, focusing on cognitive-behavioral therapies, brain training exercises and mindfulness. I have taught undergraduate courses in personality theory and psychotherapy at Temple University, and abnormal psychology at Princeton University. I work with each client to identify sources of distress or dissatisfaction in their life, and to develop strategies for overcoming obstacles to achieve a healthy and happy life.
