About Dr. Barbara Tint

Need someone to really talk to? I am a caring, thoughtful, experienced therapist who believes that a good therapist/client connection can help overcome normal concerns about starting therapy. My belief is that people can have more of what they want in their lives and improvement is almost always possible with therapy. The relationship along with the therapist's expertise and the client's participation are key ingredients for successful treatment. I work with people to sort things out, to get through a difficult time, to deal with a rocky relationship, for concerns about anxiety, and depression or mood fluctuations. I help clients make decisions, overcome the past, move forward in their lives or actualize their goals. Psychodynamic psychotherapy and other techniques like coaching and relaxation are utilized to help people address these issues.I have been in private practice for over 20 years with a wide range of patients. Out of network insurance accepted. Sliding fee scale may be available . I have been an instructor for graduate students at Columbia and Fordham Universities. I have completed 10 years of post-graduate training myself and am currently involved with training therapists.
